LJUBLJANA – BLED – BOHINJ
On this day you will go to the Slovenian Alpine region. You will be greeted by the most colorful scenery the nature has to offer. You’ll take a private typical boat tour to the island in the middle of the Lake Bled where you’ll be able to make a wish.
After that you’ll tale a walk through the autumn Bled gorge full of warm autumn colors and leafs slowly falling down the trees into the water. After a lunch in a restaurant in a Bled Castle overlooking the lake you’ll continue to more relaxed and peaceful lake Bohinj where you’ll be able to enjoy some peace and quiet of the autumn nature.
BOHINJ – BOVEC – GORIŠKA BRDA
From Bohinj you’ll take a scenic mountain pass – the highest in Slovenia to truly admire the autumn in its full glory and to cross into Soča river valley. Here you’ll have a lunch in one of the top 50 restaurants in the world, you’ll get the meal cooked by the best female chef in the world of 2017 – Ana Roš. She only uses fresh and authentic ingredients and combines them into a mixture of flavors that will stay with you forever.
After lunch you’ll continue along the turquoise Soča River to slowly arrive to one of the best known Slovenian wine regions – Goriška Brda. Along the way you will make different stops to truly absorb the lush nature around the river that is in the autumn particularly colorful, vibrant and inviting in the contrast with the turquoise river. With a little bit of luck you’ll see the mists coming from the valleys.
The morning among Goriška Brda hills is something you won’t easily forget. And since this itinerary is happening in autumn it is the time of the harvest. What better way to experience the wine you drink then to join in to the grape harvest.
The locals will teach you all you need to know about the quality of the grapes, about different forms of picking and the importance of the soil, sun and position of the vineyard. You will also learn the entire process of wine making and get a much better understanding of it. After the active day you will also get an afternoon wine tasting with some Slovenian “tapas” to spice it up.
GORIŠKA BRDA – KRIŽNA CAVE – ISTRIA
This day will be unique. You will get a chance to be a true explorer. Slovenia is a Karstic country, full of caves. There are more than 10.000 of them to be exact. You can see the UNESCO protected Škocjan caves, the longest touristic cave in Europe – Postojna cave or you can get a unique boat tour of Križna cave.
At the same time you can visit the most impressive Slovenian castle – Predjama castle. This will take you way into the heart of Slovenia, into the mythical underground where you might actually see even some baby dragons before crossing a border to Croatian Istria.
Istria is a paradise for gourmets and you will sleep in the middle of it – in a luxury renovated villa. Besides the visit of some traditional Istrian villages being here in the autumn time, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to look for something truly special. Istria is the land of the truffles.
But not just any truffles. In the autumn time there is an actual chance to find the most prestigious white truffle valued up to 3000 € per kilo.
